July Newsletter

Welcome to the July edition of the ALISS newsletter! We have had a busy few months, attending conferences and community events. It has been great to speak to so many people and share how ALISS can support the health and wellbeing of people in Scotland.

ALISS at the Scottish Young Carers Festival 2025

Earlier this month, Amber and Sophie from the Engagement team attended the Scottish Young Carers Festival. Amber wrote a blog post about this great day and all the inspiring young people, youth workers and organisations they met.

ALISS at Byres Community Hub Day

We were delighted to take part in the Byres Hub Community Day, where ALISS hosted a stall alongside a range of fantastic local groups and organisations. It was a brilliant opportunity to engage with members of the community, share information about how ALISS can help people find local support and services, and hear first-hand about the valuable work other organisations are doing in the community.

If you were not able to make it along, you can still learn all about ALISS at the ALISS in Wowland Community Drop-Ins. Held monthly at the Byres Hub, these friendly and informal sessions are a great way to discover things to do in your community. Each session also features guest groups who come along to share more about their organisation or project. Why not pop in next time and see what is happening in your local area!

The Importance of Community Connections

Amber and Sophie from the Engagement team visited the Nan McKay Community Hall in Pollokshields. This vibrant local hub offers a variety of activities and services that bring people together to promote health, wellbeing, and community connection.

Long Covid Webinar

Our Engagement Programme Manager Cameron recently spoke at a webinar, joining Prof. Edward Duncan from the University of Stirling, who shared findings from their research mapping Long Covid services across Scotland. As part of the project, these services were added to ALISS.

Cameron demonstrated how ALISS can help people find and share information about health and wellbeing services, groups, and support, including those related to Long Covid.

Annual Survey

It is that time of the year again - our annual survey is live!
