Maud Community Trust
The Maud Village Trust was formed from the Community Association in order to acquire and develop a redundant cattle market, in the centre of the Village of Maud. The Maud Mart was the largest one day fat stock market in the whole of Britain, however changes in the supply chain, BSE and foot and mouth finally led to the closure of the Mart and in 2002 the Maud Village Trust purchased the site.
The building was named The Old Mart Community Resource Centre was to be constructed for the purpose of a Community Resource Centre, designed to facilitate a multi agency support network for vulnerable people in the community and a range of activities and services which will benefit the overall health and wellbeing of the local community. It will be use by all health professions from the NHS and Aberdeenshire Council, social work and housing professionals, voluntary sector organizations and community groups. Include in the building is a gym which provides fitness for everyone.
