by Forth Environment Link Claimed
Every Wednesday we run a led cycle ride for a group of people accessing Livilands mental health services. We take a person centred approach to these rides and encourage the group to get involved with deciding the length of ride, setting group goals and taking turns to choose routes. We ride anywhere between 10 to 30 miles and always at an easy pace.
These rides are designed to build confidence and promote independence whilst also encouraging active travel and health improvement. However, we also focus on the social benefits of cycling and being part of a group and always make a point of stopping midway for a cup of tea and a chat.
We also have a number of ebikes available to use on our rides free of charge.
If you have a patient group or feel that you yourself would benefit from a similar session, please don’t hesitate to get in touch by contacting Emma at Emmat@forthenvironmentlink.org . We are always looking to work with different patient groups across the NHS.
