Enable Me: Making Friends

by Enable Scotland ( Learning Disability )

Everyone likes to have friends, but sometimes people find it hard to make friends. It might be because they don't know where to go to meet new people. Or it might be because they do not feel confident.

ENABLE Scotland can help you meet new people. We can also help you to think about new ways to make friends.

Finding the rights facilities in your local area is important. One of the reasons for having your own budget to pay for support is to enable you to try new things, or achieve outcomes.

Lots of the people we support have set themselves outcomes which involve learning a new skill. ENABLE Scotland has a network of contacts including local groups which can help to put you in touch with people who have similar interests. Here are some of them:

- FUN (Perth & Kinross)
- Friends Unlimited Network (Helensburgh)
- Discos and nights out organised through local branches.
- Interest Link Borders
