The Glasgow Key Fund provides a service between private property owners and tenants.
Improving access to the private rented sector is a long-term effective solution to Scotland’s homelessness problem, providing high standards of accommodation and, crucially, creating a platform for some of society’s most under-represented people to genuinely improve their lives. The Glasgow Key Fund provides tenancy sustainment support to people who are homeless, or in danger of becoming homeless, through helping them to find the solution to their housing needs in the private rented sector.
There are two parts to this project:
Rent Deposit and Temporary Furnished Flats
Our Rent Deposit service connects tenancy ready tenants with landlords. We provide a Rent Deposit Guarantee, which allows the tenant to save up their deposit over an agreed period, while we provide a named worker and ongoing tenancy sustainment support from our highly trained team. 89% of our rent deposit tenants successfully find a long-term housing solution through the Glasgow Key Fund. We offer ongoing support to landlords to help them understand their obligations, including support and advice with Universal Credit.
Our Temporary Furnished Flats service offers short term solutions to people who are experiencing, or are at risk of experiencing, homelessness, together with tenancy sustainment support.
If you’re a landlord with property in Glasgow we would love to hear from you!
