Guided Self Help

Anxiety, depression and stress can have a major negative impact on our lives but tackling them might be easier than you think.

Guided Self-Help is based on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy or CBT and uses self-help materials, selected exclusively for you. It can help you manage your problems by changing the way you think and behave. If you're experiencing mild to moderate anxiety or depression, stress or insomnia, Guided Self-Help could make a positive difference to how you feel. It is confidential, free and easy to access.

You'll receive one to one support from a guided self-help practitioner who will help you to make positive changes in your life which will allow you to better manage your issues now and in the future.

You can also ask your GP for a referral or you can visit the Midlothian Wellbeing Access Point or your Wellbeing Practitioner and ask for a referral. In Midlothian, Wellbeing Practitioners are based in eight local GP practices in Bonnyrigg, Dalkeith, Eastfield, Newbattle, Newbyres and Penicuik.
