Health in Mind - re:discover (Midlothian)

Supporting people to make connections with people, activities and groups in their community. re:discover is for anyone aged 16 and over who is feeling isolated and would like to improve their mental health and wellbeing. The service offers support for up to six months. People are supported by a trained volunteer who offers support to build confidence, meet new people and connect into local groups and activities.
During these times, Re:discover Midlothian has now evolved to a distance befriending service.
Trained volunteers offer support via telephone or video calls to explore ways to use the current situation to promote positive wellbeing and self-care. This could be by exploring ways to connect, be active or learn something new.
Support usually takes place once per week for around 30-45 minutes and matches will last for the duration of social distancing restrictions.
You can self-refer or be referred by someone else. Forms are available on the website.
