Home Support Service
Tagsa Uibhist provides a limited number of free care hours per month to adults at risk living in the Uists who require a flexible home support service.
We aim to:
*Enable carers and service users to have regular breaks. This applies to all those who need constant care, and their carers;
*Provide essential respite care for those with acute illnesses, their carers, and their families;
*Support vulnerable people living alone; and
*Ensure a high-quality service for people with dementia and their carers.
We provide the following home support services:
*Practical home-based support for family carers and vulnerable people living alone (including help with personal care and housework);
*Respite for informal carers;
*Holiday respite care at home, in agreement with Comhairle nan Eilean Siar;
*Cancer care at home working in partnership with MacMillan Nurses.
Our services give individual service users more independence so that they can continue to live at home for longer, and informal carers get a much needed break. This helps alleviate the stress of caring for someone.
