Supporting young people who are deaf or have hearing loss.
Securing employment, training or education opportunities can be extremely challenging for people who are deaf or have a hearing loss as many continue to be disadvantaged and not supported to reach their full potential.
Action on Hearing Loss Scotland provides a specialist ‘Moving On' transitions service, funded by The Big Lottery Fund, which supports 16-25 year olds who are deaf or have a hearing loss in Scotland's central belt to take up work experience and move in to full-time employment, training or education.
'Moving On' also helps to build the confidence of young people and provides one-to-one or group support to gain life skills and achieve their personal goals. Every young person is different and ‘Moving On' offers a personalised service to meet the individual needs of each client.
