NHS Lanarkshire Health Improvement
NHS Lanarkshire provide a wide range of health care services across Lanarkshire.
Health Improvement works to improve the health and wellbeing of individuals and communities by enabling people to make healthier choices. It also addresses underlying influences on health such as poverty, social isolation and employability. Reducing health inequalities is a strategic aim for NHS Lanarkshire (Achieving Excellence, March 2017). This underpins service delivery and approaches to working; making it everyone's business.
Health Improvement is also a distinct function carried out by trained, specialist staff. They have a specific role in the planning, delivery and management of a wide range of Health Improvement programmes and initiatives. Health Improvement was formerly known as Health Promotion.
