One to One Counselling

Delivered by: Moving on Ayrshire
Last reviewed: 06/12/2018

Moving On Ayrshire's person centred counselling is open to any South Ayrshire resident aged 14 and over who is struggling to come to terms with issues that have resulted from their past rape or sexual abuse. Our service is for men and women and those in the LGBTI community. It doesn’t matter if the trauma they experienced is recent or historic.

Our counsellors are professionally qualified to at least post graduate diploma level or equivalent. They have wide ranging counselling experience and have undertaken many specialist training courses which make them especially skilled at empathising with the feelings of survivors of sexual abuse and rape.

It is absolutely central to the Moving On Ayrshire ethos that we provide our clients with a safe place where they can be themselves and talk about really personal memories and issues often for the very first time. Confidentiality is at the heart of our service.

We have an open referral policy. This means that with your permission you can be referred by a whole range of professionals including your GP, social worker, addiction worker, health visitor, benefits advisor or even by your friends or family. However, most of our referrals come from our clients themselves and we actively encourage this route.
