Personal Development Programme
by Momentum Skills ( Outdoor Pursuits, Social Activity, Activity )
The Momentum Pathway's PDP programme is designed as a precursor to our Mental Health Pathways Programme. This programme is designed for clients who wish to obtain employment but are not quite ready. This may be due to mental health difficulties, a lack of confidence or because of issues with substance misuse. Clients must be motivated in their recovery and be able to commit to 3 days attendance of 10am to 3pm for 12 weeks, clients with minimal attendance for two weeks will be removed from the programme.
This programme has a three day timetable which consists of going to a forest park for a day. This involves doing activities such as bird watching, a seal survey and a litter pick. Clients meet at Ruby House and are taken by minivan to the location. Forests we visit include Den of Maidencraig, Donmouth and Kinkorth hill. Through these activities clients are able to achieve the John Muir award. On the second day clients will come into Ruby house and have a session on confidence building, healthy living, assertiveness or other useful employment related skills. In the afternoon clients will leave the centre to go for a walk, go to a cooking class at Cfine or visit Hazelhead park. On the third day clients will attend yoga in the morning and fill in log books for the week in the afternoon.
Referrals can be self refer or through a professional body and this programme is run on a group intake basis every 12 weeks.
