Refuge

Last reviewed: 16/01/2018

Our refuges are safe and temporary places to stay. Refuges are about safety, support and the opportunity to talk with other women who have had similar experiences to yourself and knowing you are not alone. In the refuge, you will not be judged or blamed for the abuse that happened. Through sharing your feelings and listening to others, you can make friends and start to regain your self confidence.

All refuges are located within the northern corridor of North Lanarkshire, the addresses of which must remain confidential at all times.

There is an Office/Drop-In which provides advice and support by qualified staff, and is open to the public from 9:30am – 3:30pm Monday to Friday. Outwith these hours, a 24-hour/365 day On-Call Service exists, which can be accessed by calling the office and obtaining the two emergency mobile numbers on the answering machine. Women and other agencies can access this at any time if there is an urgent need for accommodation, advice and support.
