Stirling Community Food
by Transition Stirling Claimed
Stirling Community Food Project, in partnership with The Kitchen at 44, is to help reduce food waste. Instead of large supermarkets putting large volumes of excess and near-sell-by-date food in the bin, Stirling Community Food offers the food to everyone in the community for free.
Although it is often described as the Community Fridge, many fresh bakery goods and frozen foods can also be collected.
This project has been kindly part-funded by Stirling Council, but due to the consequences of coronavirus we have more work to do than expected: supermarkets have less outlets for the surplus food and we've had over 100 people come to pick up food in a single day to collect it!
Food is currently being sourced from the Stirling branches of Marks & Spencer, Sainsbury’s, Tesco, Aldi, Lidl and Morrisons.
Please follow our dedicated Facebook page to keep up to date with what is available and opening times!
Location: Wellgreen Lane, Stirling
Opening Times: 10am -12pm every day.
Available to all and everyone welcome!
