Women & Non-binary Cycle Lessons and Rides
by Bike for Good Claimed
The group lesson and the group ride run at both our South and West locations on a Thursday morning:
10am – 11.00am: “Learn to Ride” group lesson. This is suited to people that cannot ride at all or who are returning to cycling after a break. This is also for people who can ride, but are lacking confidence and wish to build their skills.
11:30am – 12:30pm: guided group cycle ride. This is suited to people that can ride and wish to have a gentle, social ride guided by professional cycle instructors, or who wish to gain some experience on quiet roads.
All instructors and helpers are women or non-binary people. Bikes and helmets are provided. Please wear flat-soled shoes and bring weather appropriate clothing.
These sessions are available for all women (trans, cis, and intersex) and all non-binary people (of all/no genders). Self-definition is at the sole discretion of users. We do not police gender in our rides or lessons. If you are here it is because you feel that you are included, and therefore are welcome. If you have any queries regarding our gender inclusion policy, please don’t hesitate to ask questions. We welcome complete beginners, as this is a learning space with cycle trainers & volunteers on hand to work through problems together.
The sessions are coached by women who themselves have an insight into the barriers women may face when starting to cycle. With a focus on building community and creating a space where learning becomes a fun and exciting experience, we have seen women grow in confidence and continue their cycling journey, supporting others to start cycling, training to become ride leaders, learning mechanics and volunteering at Bike for Good.
