Kingsmeadows SCIO

Kingsmeadows SCIO has 5 goals:

  • Community development incl. woodland, green space and social regeneration bringing natural spaces into Community ownership, operation and use
  • Environmental protection managing woodlands and natural habitats for the preservation of biodiversity and providing access, recreational facilities and activities that connect people with nature
  • Science by the study of flora, fauna and fungi by naturalists, ecologists, conservation societies and other experts and to provide education and opportunities for people to participate in citizen science and nature-based projects
  • Heritage and culture by preserving, repairing and restoring designated landscape, historic or listed features and bring these into appropriate public use for cultural activities
  • Health by working with GPs and academics to develop and offer nature-based social prescribing and participate in research designed to measure NBSP effectiveness, facilitating connections with nature and likeminded individuals
