Community Health Activity Team (CHAT)

East Ayrshire’s Activity on prescription scheme is a programme supporting individuals to adopt a healthier lifestyle. You can be referred by your health professional to receive 1-1 support and advice on how you can take steps to improve your health. Our highly qualified team can support individuals with a history of heart disease, neurological issues, at risk of falls, have MSK or pain management concerns or have received a recent cancer diagnosis to name just a few. An activity programme including exercise classes and walks is offered to encourage increased levels of physical activity. There are additional options to help with weight management (Weigh To Go and LEAN delivered in conjunction with NHS Ayrshire and Arran), those in recovery from alcohol and drug addiction and support with dealing with mild/moderate mental health problems. Look out for community health checks offered across East Ayrshire to check your blood pressure, height and weight or just to have a chat to team member
