Dementia Heroes aims to relieve the needs of people awaiting a diagnosis or living with dementia and their family members and/or other people caring for them through activities (ie cafés) that provide a safe, fully accessible, stimulating environment and for them to gain access to support, advice and information and to engage in activities that further their physical and mental wellbeing and/or help to address social exclusion, including multicultural communities; working in collaboration with national, regional, local and community partner organisations to improve the quality, efficiency and coordination of care and support for people with dementia and those caring for them, raising awareness of the services; supporting public research, public awareness (ie Dementia Fest) and measures to tackle stigma; using the value of people's lived experiences to shape commissioning, policy, research and the delivery of care and support for people impacted by dementia and those caring for them.
