Pilates Teacher Association
Pilates has been recognised as a useful exercise for building strength and flexibility as well as for conditions including back pain.
Finding a Pilates teacher may seem simple, however, in October 2000, Pilates was labelled as a generic exercise. Since then there has been mass training and group classes entitled “Pilates” which may vary considerably in content.
The Pilates Teacher Association was founded in 2013 to help the public and medical professionals understand differences in practice and help in finding a Pilates teacher. PTA registered teachers are committed to excellence in teaching and the practice of the Pilates method. All teachers meet strict entry criteria and work to a Code of ethical practice and Conduct. This assures the public that you are buying from a reputable teacher who holds formal qualifications, insurance and takes their role in teaching Pilates seriously. If there is not a PTA teacher in your area, we can find a teacher who could be eligible.
