Recovery Rocks music group

We are a group that runs twice a week in the East Ayrshire Recovery Hub for those tackling addiction and substance abuse. The group provides support but also a way for people to enjoy their recovery by participating in music and socialising with others. Those who come to the group always leave feeling uplifted and its very rewarding to see people progress and build their confidence back that addiction took from them.

In the past year the group has played at several events such as the Alcohol and Drug Partnership conference, Disability Awareness Week, Take A Bow and the Stigma Roadshow. Being asked to play at these events and make recovery visible is really important to us as well as being a part of community events.

We are in the process of getting a guitar tutor in for total beginners to do a 12 week course. We also hired a sound engineer to come out for a few sessions and teach us about the mixing board and PA system.
