Sir John Stirling Maxwell Allotments Association

Our Allotment Gardens date from 1888, when Sir John Stirling Maxwell donated the ground to the residents of Pollokshaws. This means our allotment gardens have been around for over 130 years.

Located within Pollok Park, there are 127 plots, and most plots have a shed or greenhouse. The plots are well-supplied with stand pipes, so it’s only ever a short walk to fill up your watering can. We also have a club house and toilets on site.

We currently have a waiting list of around 5-10 years, so to avoid setting unrealistic expectations and to eliminate unnecessary admin work, our waiting list closes when it reaches 40 applicants.
