Staff Nurses within School Nursing Service in East Ayrshire

Staff nurses work within the school nursing team and support the Health Visiting Service with the delivery of the pre-5 immunisation programme within GP and clinic settings. Routine childhood immunisations are offered from 8 weeks up to pre school age. Our staff nurses are also involved in the delivery of the annual flu vaccine to pre-5 children within nursery, GP clinics and Community clinics.  As well as delivery of immunisations, the staff nurses will work alongside the school nurses to support school aged children with many health and wellbeing needs such as; emotional health and well-being, continence, behaviour and sleep. Staff nurses also complete annual reviews for our Care experienced Children across East Ayrshire.
