Substance Use Recovery Service (Shetland)

The Substance Misuse Recovery Service (SMRS) operates within the Mental Health Department. For alcohol and drug addiction problems you can either self refer directly to the local specialist team or contact your GP. An assessment will then be made. Crisis services are also available. You can contact the team on 01595 743006.The service is funded by the Shetland Alcohol and Drugs Partnership which is a multi-agency group including representation from the NHS, Shetland Islands Council, Fire & Rescue Services, Police Scotland and the Charitable Sector. These agencies work together towards reducing the harmful impact of alcohol and drugs in Shetland.
