Gardening can be an excellent physical activity which provides exercise without it necessarily feeling like a workout. Being out in fresh air and sunshine is so important and this session gives an opportunity to be outside in good company with ready access to indoors when required. We have 5 sizeable raised beds as well as a poly tunnel for growing produce that is then given to gardening volunteers, hall members or used in the soup and cooking classes. The Hall gardens, in addition to the food growing spaces, has a mixture of habitats including a variety of flowers, trees and herbs. We are interested in mushroom cultivation as a next step.So do come along: Share with us your favourite veg and let’s try to grow it. Share any reminiscences and expertise of growing food from your life and relive fond memories in good company with your hands in the soil or round a cuppa.
