Deaf Children Local Support Group

Last updated: 26/08/2025

Local deaf children's societies are a great way to meet other families of deaf children. They run lots of social events and activities, provide support to parents and carers and give deaf children the chance to meet outside of school. Many also have their own social media channels.

Each local society is a small charity that is officially affiliated to the National Deaf Children's Society. They are volunteer-run and largely parent-led, with a formal committee structure in place. Each group is independent and has its own constitution, code of conduct and procedures, but we still offer lots of support to help them thrive.
