Visiting a loved one in prison can be a difficult process.

HMP and HMYOI Polmont Visitors Centre offers support for visitors with a friend or family member in HMPYOI Polmont. It is a welcoming space offering free refreshments, a children’s play area, toilets, information and an opportunity to relax before or after a visit.

We offer:

  • Information about prison processes 
  • Emotional support with the process of prison visiting and having a loved one in custody
  • Support for children visiting a loved one in HMPYOI Polmont
  • Support with visiting the prison for those with challenges due to neurodiversity 
  • Referrals to other organisations who may be able to provide more specific support
  • Help with travel expense claims
  • Opportunities for families to give feedback to the prison
