The Older Carers Companion Group

Last reviewed: 25/04/2022

The Older Persons Companion Group provides an opportunity for carers over 65 years to meet with other carers, form friendships and take part in activities and social events.

This type of peer support can have many positive effects including reducing isolation, increasing confidence and improving general health and wellbeing. The group is led by volunteers, who have themselves been carers. Outings take place on a monthly basis and are decided by the group members. Transport is provided and the Carers’ Centre can assist with replacement care if you require support for the person you care for.
