Having a life-limiting illness or condition can be very lonely for you and your family. Our Befriending Service has been designed to help alleviate that sense of isolation and loneliness by providing face-to-face visits at home for adults living in the hospice catchment area. The Service, where possible, can also reconnect you with your local community while providing some respite for your carers. The Befriending Service Volunteers are trained to offer a listening ear and valuable companionship for between 1-3 hours once a week for 8 weeks. They will spend quality time with you through activities tailored to you, including watching films, listening to music, doing puzzles, or simply having great conversations and having you reminisce.
