Psychological Service for Children and Young People

Last updated: 15/05/2024

Educational Psychologists can work with children and young people where there is a barrier, including additional support needs (ASN), to learning and development or where assessment for a school placement has been identified as a need.

In East Ayrshire the service works in early childhood centres, primary schools, secondary schools and special schools.

Direct referrals are usually made through schools with parents’ permission. However, children and young people can speak with their guidance teacher or class teacher, or contact service directly if they would like to find out more.
