Tobacco Education
This is a Claimed service
Fast Forward’s tobacco education programme is funded by, and delivered in partnership with, NHS Lothian’s Health Promotion Service.
Drawing on our experience of delivering programmes focusing on Smoke Free Homes / Schools / School Gates, our current focus, in partnership with ASH Scotland, is on supporting the development of Smoke Free Communities across Edinburgh.
We continue to offer our tobacco education programme to primary and secondary schools and youth groups in Edinburgh, Midlothian and East Lothian.
The programme aims to;
raise aware of tobacco and the benefits of remaining smoke free
reduce children and young peoples’ exposure to second-hand smoke (or passive smoking)
discourage them from taking up smoking and;
work with local communities to create Smoke Free Communities.
Our work supports organisations and practitioners to integrate tobacco education into their programmes, thereby raising young people’s awareness of the topic. We also support discussions around e-cigarettes, cannabis and smoking cessation.
We are not able to offer any stop smoking support to individuals, information regarding this type of support can be found by contacting the following;
