We are a social work organisation that believes in early intervention. This means working with children and families before problems/issues become entrenched.

We work to support children and parents dealing with important transition points- this can be the birth of a child, the move into primary school or the move to Edinburgh for families who are new migrants.

We help children and families deal with issues of identity, loss, displacement and trauma.

MCFB’s model of holistic service delivery is centred around preventative individual/dyadic/family interventions within the home/school/community.

Our practice is evidence-based, attachment and relationship-based and trauma-informed.

The long-running weekly group work projects have continuously evolved and adapted in response to the changing needs of our communities. As, Merz et al. (2012), identified, there is an association between attachment and wellbeing throughout a person’s life.
