Samaritans of Glasgow is a recognised branch of Samaritans.
Glasgow Samaritans opened in 1960, and since then we have prided ourselves on being available for callers 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
As well as supporting our callers we support the Listener schemes in two local prisons, HMP Barlinnie and HMP Low Moss, which involves specially trained prisoners offering emotional support to other prisons in need.
Our volunteers deliver talks to local schools, raising awareness of emotional health in young people, and other local groups who are interested in learning about our work. We hold information sessions throughout the year, giving potential volunteers a chance to find out more about the services we offer and what's involved.
Glasgow Samaritans also has a number of partnerships with local organisations, providing outreach and support to the likes of food banks, educational institutions and railway operators.
Samaritans of Glasgow is a charity registered in Scotland (SC047232).
