Singing for Breathing

This is a Claimed service
Delivered by: The Cheyne Gang This is a Claimed organisation
Last reviewed: 27/06/2023

We set up and run community singing groups for people with long-term lung conditions such as COPD, Bronchiectasis, severe Asthma and Pulmonary Fibrosis. These diseases cause breathlessness which can be very debilitating and lead to anxiety, low mood and social isolation. Learning breath control and singing in a community group has positive physical, mental and social health benefits.

We currently have 4 groups in Edinburgh, 1 in Innerleithen and 1 in Glasgow. Sessions are run every 2 weeks and last 1 hour at the moment due to Covid 19 restrictions.

More information about our groups and the benefits can be found on our website, Facebook page or on Twitter.
