Community hearing testing pilot study
This is a Claimed service
Community hearing testing using novel hearing test product as part of a pilot study.
We are looking for volunteers from all backgrounds with normal hearing or suspected/confirmed hearing loss in an informal pilot study (hdiags.co.uk/get-involved). The participation in the pilot study is voluntary, and unpaid, and the test session takes about an hour. During a session, we conduct two hearing tests: one using our new technology and a second one using the gold-standard hearing test, the pure-tone audiogram. The session also includes an ear examination (otoscopy).
Our test administrators are certified by the British Academy of Audiology (BAA) to perform otoscopy and will be able to advise volunteers on the presence of ear wax blockage in their ears. At the end of each test session, volunteers will be told about their hearing ability, any potential ear wax problems, and receive hand-outs on hearing loss and hearing care.
For adults aged 18+.
