Cyrenians OPAL (Opportunities for Active Lives)

This is a Claimed service
Delivered by: Cyrenians This is a Claimed organisation
Last updated: 06/05/2025

Cyrenians OPAL works with people aged 60 and above, promoting active and fulfilling lives, creating and enriching communities which empower all to remain independent, living at home and socially connected.  The service is delivered by a team of dedicated, trained volunteers who offer encouragement, companionship and support to help people engage in social, leisure and community activities.

We do this with:

  • One-to-One Support: short outings in the local community, confidence building walks, support to attend local groups and telephone support
  • Community Groups - Social, activity and walking groups
  • Digital Support (help in using a computer, tablet or smartphone)
  • OPAL Community Hub - Our Community Hub is centrally located in Bathgate and welcomes service users and volunteers as a drop-in for a cuppa and chat, for a range of groups and events and for training activities. The Hub also holds our resource library which has a variety of games and activities available for loan.
