Samaritans of Inverness

Last updated: 09/09/2025

Samaritans of Inverness is a recognised branch of Samaritans.

Samaritan’s Inverness branch was founded in 1973 and is located in the heart of Inverness, a short walk from the bus station and railway station. We take calls from all over the UK, but our volunteers come from across the largest geographical area of any branch in the UK.

Our volunteers provide telephone and email support. If you need someone to talk to, we listen. We won't judge or tell you what to do. Whatever you're going through, you can call us for FREE.

Our Outreach Team visit diverse local events: highland games, agricultural shows, charity events, shopping centres and music festivals. Alongside this we visit the UHI and deliver prison support and workplace-based training on mental well-being.

We are always looking for new volunteers, both for listening and support roles.

Samaritans of Inverness SCIO is a charity registered in Scotland (SC047836).
