Women’s Empowerment Project

Glasgow Afghan United (GAU) Women’s Empowerment Project provides a safe space and platform for women from Afghan and other ethnic minority platforms and helps with access to education, employment, leisure, advice and other support.

Sessions and activities include:

  • Health and Wellbeing
  • Cycling
  • Outings
  • Digital Classes
  • Theory and Practical Driving Support
  • English Classes
  • Training Sessions (eg: First Aid, Safeguarding and Protecting Children, Fire and Safety at Home)
  • Badminton and Tennis
  • Friday Breakfast Club
  • International Women's Day Celebrations
  • Asylum, Immigration Support and Housing
  • Money Management
  • Peer Support Facilitation
  • University/College Support
  • Volunteering
