A day centre facility for war veterans with low vision i.e. vision loss that can't be corrected with glasses. Low vision can include blind spots, poor night vision and blurry sight. The most common causes are age-related macular degeneration, glaucoma, cataracts and diabetes. Support is offered by professional care staff at the centre to use on site facilities including the woodwork area and gym. Workers have specialist training to guide participants to learn skills such as the Paralympic sport (VI) Shooting and archery. There is a cafe onsite and the centre is situated in a peaceful countryside setting. Sight Scotland have their own minibus service for door-to-door transport to and from the facility.
