Blochairn Housing Association is a non-fully mutual Housing Association in the Royston area. The Association is controlled by a Management Committee of local residents who are unpaid volunteers.
The Association provides good quality accommodation and manages and maintains it to the highest possible standard.
Aims:
- To provide good quality accommodation for those in housing need
- Promote resident control and involvement and help local people to make decisions which affect their lives
- Create a place that people are happy to live in and proud to say they come from
- Provide high quality management and maintenance services
- Provide a mix of house types in terms of size and amenity, including special needs housing.
- To allocate housing fairly and objectively, with no discrimination on any grounds
- To achieve a balance between promoting community and family support, and allocation priorities based on housing need, for example, medical problems, overcrowding or lacking basic amenities
