Building Brighter Futures is an eight week employability course in Edinburgh for young people who are interested in careers in construction, including carpentry and joinery.

The Building Brighter Futures course is suitable for young people who are 16-21 years old and at stages 1 and 2 of the Strategic Skills Pipeline.

What young people can gain

  • Support and funding to sit CSCS test and gain CSCS card 
  • REHIS level 5 Elementary Health and Safety Qualification 
  • SCQF level 3 Core Skills 
  • SCQF level 3 employability award 
  • Confidence building through group work opportunities 
  • CV and interview skills workshop  
  • Construction site visits 
  • Work placements on local sites such as CCG and Cruden
