The Gilbert Bain Hospital is a remote and rural hospital providing emergency and acute care along with planned care, diagnostics and investigative services. Visiting consultants provide outpatient clinics as well as inpatient and day case surgery to supplement the service provided by our locally-based Consultants in General Medicine, General Surgery, Anaesthetics and Psychiatry. The hospital is supported by range of health and care facilities across 16 inhabited islands providing care to a population of around 23,000.
