Our Equality & Diversity Carer Service is a dedicated, well-established service supporting carers from minority ethnic communities and other disadvantaged backgrounds across North and South Lanarkshire. Our multilingual staff works across Lanarkshire to identify, engage, inform, advise and support carers to access available services. This includes:
- Provision of advice and support in multilingual formats
- Carers Wellbeing Call service delivered in three languages
- On-demand language access in more than 240 languages through spoken interpretation and written translation
- Engagement, involvement and representation of carers from minority ethnic communities in local and national forums
LGBTQ+ Carers
Many LGBTQ+ carers experience additional challenges such as emotional and physical ill-health, relationship breakdown, discrimination, harassment, loneliness, and isolation. We offer 1-2-1 support to LGBTQ+ carers, information, opportunities to support carers' wellbeing, and access to short breaks.
