PANS (Paediatric Autoimmune Neuropsychiatric Syndrome)

PANDAS (Paediatric Autoimmune Neuropsychiatric Disorder Associated with Strep)

PANS and PANDAS are infection-induced immune-mediated conditions, which commonly present with both physical and psychiatric symptoms.

Children and adults affected by PANS and PANDAS may face significant challenges in education or the workplace, as many develop substantial additional support needs. It is likely that they will need support from health, education and social care services throughout the process of diagnosis and treatment.

PANS PANDAS UK have developed a GIRFEC resource to aid practitioners in understanding the impact of the conditions across all the SHANARRI health and wellbeing indicators.
