These performances, designed especially for people living with dementia, their friends and carers, give the flexibility and freedom to relax and make the concert experience as easy and enjoyable as possible.
To help create a relaxed environment:
• SCO musicians will introduce the music you will hear in each concert
• Doors open 45 minutes before the start – so there is plenty of time to get settled in
• Wheelchair spaces and welcoming front of house staff will be on hand
• There will be brighter lighting levels in the auditorium
• There is no need to keep quiet or sit still and you can come in and out of the auditorium during the performance
• Quiet areas will be available if you need to take a break
Coffee, tea and biscuits will be served to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for all attendees.

There are no steps but a downward slope of around 9% starts about one third of the way into the foyer and flattens out when you reach the Bar area. A handrail starts about halfway along the lefthand side of the foyer and runs alongside the incline at a height of 91cm.
The Queen's Hall is accessible to wheelchair users via a ramp up to the front righthand entrance, next to the Box Office.
The door can be opened with a push plate.
There are two wheelchair accessible toilets to the lefthand side of the rear fire exit in the Bar, which is located at the far end of the open foyer (when approaching from the front of the building).
There is an induction loop in the main auditorium to help patrons with hearing difficulties.
Turn your hearing aid to the T position to pick up sound directly from the stage.
Non-accessible self-contained cubicle toilets are located upstairs above the bar.
