Ripple Family Support Service

This is a Claimed service
Delivered by: Scottish Families Affected by Alcohol and Drugs (SFAD) This is a Claimed organisation
Last updated: 06/02/2026

SFAD's Ripple Family Support Service offers support to anyone in Scotland over the age of 16 who is affected by someone else’s alcohol/drug use.

Our support is person-centred and tailored to suit your needs and what you would like to focus on. The support is delivered through one-to-one sessions that give you a safe space to talk about the impact on you and explore ways to help you with coping.

Your support worker can also support you with more structured models that can help with coping such as looking at the CRAFT approach. There is also the opportunity to join with group peer support.

Each support session lasts around one hour and the frequency can be arranged to suit your needs. Most of our sessions are online and by phone, but if you prefer support in other ways we can arrange this.

You can get in touch through our Helpline. Once our helpline advisor has referred you to the Ripple Family Support Service, a member of our team will contact you to find out how we can best support you.
