The Umbrella Project is a service which aims to improve mental health through activity-based support.

If you live in North Ayrshire and are looking for support with mental health issues, our Umbrella Project could be the service for you. This community group offers mental health recovery support through activity.

We will work with you to support your recovery by using activity in therapeutic ways.

You will be encouraged to shape the monthly programme and to take part in activities that are meaningful to you.

As you meet with other group members in this safe and inclusive environment, the therapeutic activity will give you alternative ways to express your feelings and emotions. You will also have the chance to share and listen to real lived experience stories, while being supported by staff and peer group members.

Our support includes:

  • Cookery skills
  • Therapeutic activities
  • Intergenerational working
  • Guided relaxation
  • Arts and crafts
