The National Databank at TWC

Last updated: 08/09/2025

The National Data Bank is an initiative designed to provide free access to mobile data for individuals who may not otherwise afford it. The National Databank is a UK wide programme that provides free mobile data to individuals facing data poverty. It's essentially a "sim card bank" for those who cannot easily access the internet.

TWC is one of over 1,000 Digital Inclusion Hubs across the UK, where eligible individuals can receive free SIM cards loaded with mobile data, calls, and texts.

  • Hubs distribute donated data from mobile networks like Virgin Media O2, Vodafone, and Three.
  • Staff help identify those in need.
  • We ensure that people without internet access - especially those facing financial hardship or digital exclusion - can stay connected to essential services, job opportunities, education, and social support.

In order to access support, come into the Whiteinch Centre and speak to a member of staff who will be able to help.
