Creative Arts Programme - Children and Young People

Last updated: 12/08/2025

The Get Creative Young People's Learning Programme offers a year-round programme of core Saturday classes and one-off workshops.

An annual Young People's Exhibition is held within Lillie Art Gallery – providing a professional setting for young people to experience their work on display next to national and international recognised artists.

The programme is inspired by our rich and diverse permanent collections/archives and general art/design history. A lot of the course work is self-directed, which challenges young people to take lead in their creative journey. Children aged between seven and 11 can take part in 'smART classes' at the Lillie Art Gallery and Auld Kirk Museum.

Our workshops and courses are fun and creative, giving participants the chance to make new friends, build confidence, and develop skills and interests.
