Living Interdependent & Independent

Delivered by: Stepdown
Last updated: 14/08/2025

We support young people as they transition from residential care to independent living. Our interdependent and independent services support young people aged 16 and over to develop a range of essential life skills to support their transition into adulthood.

This service complements our portfolio of accommodation which includes singleton flats, one, two, 3 and 4 bedded residential houses available to young people. Our semi-independent flats within our residential homes provide young people with the opportunity to experience reduced support while preparing for the next step – whether that’s returning to family or living independently in the community.

Our goal is to guide them on their journey to independence, ensuring they have the skills and confidence to thrive on their own while still being part of a supportive network. Our interdependent living model provides a nurturing, empowering environment for young people who are beginning or continuing their journey towards independence.
