Community Mental Health First Aiders Befriending Project - West Lothian
This is a Claimed service
The Community Mental Health First Aiders Befriending Project offers short-term emotional and social support to help you feel more connected, confident, and supported in your community. If you’re feeling lonely, isolated, or struggling with your wellbeing, our trained Community Mental Health First Aiders can offer a friendly, listening ear and practical encouragement.
You’ll be matched with a befriender who will meet with you for up to 2 hours per week, for a period of 3 months. During this time, your befriender can:
- Offer friendly conversation and emotional support
- Encourage you to take part in community or social activities
- Help build confidence and self-esteem
- Provide information about local support services and activities
This project is designed to help you take small, positive steps toward feeling more connected and improving your mental wellbeing — at your own pace, with compassionate support.
